The Student Council of Vedanta College is a dynamic platform that empowers students to actively participate in the academic, cultural, social, and co-curricular life of the institution. It provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, express their ideas, take responsibility, and contribute meaningfully to the college community.

The Council serves as a link between the student community, faculty, and college administration, fostering effective communication, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging.

Student’s council gives a voice to all the students for raising their problems, encouraging them to actively work with teachers and promote a healthy learning environment.

It plays a significant role in providing a platform to students so that they can show their talent and enhance their capabilities. The Student’s council is formed during the first term of the new academic year.

ABOUT THE STUDENT COUNCIL

Overview

The Student Council encourages students to take an active role in shaping their campus experience. Through participation in various initiatives, programmes, competitions, celebrations, and student-centric activities, Council members gain practical experience in leadership, teamwork, communication, decision-making, and event management.

The Council works in coordination with the college authorities and faculty coordinators to ensure that student ideas and initiatives are channelled in a constructive and meaningful manner.

The Student’s council is formed during the first term of the new academic year. Even though our institution has not constituted the Student’s council as per Maharashtra Ordinance XXV of 2016 for the 5 academic years, Our college has its own Student’s council.

The Student’s council comprises of members of the teaching staff, teacher co-ordinators, student nominees from NSS, Cultural Activities Committee. Through various programmes and activities, we are helping the students to build their confidence, enhance their skills and overcome their shortcomings.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Periodic Meetings

Student Representation: Provide students with a platform to communicate their ideas, suggestions, and concerns.
Leadership Development: Nurture responsible, confident, and capable student leaders.
Active Participation: Encourage involvement in academic, cultural, sports, social, and co-curricular activities.
Communication & Collaboration: Strengthen interaction between students, faculty, and the administration.

Social Responsibility: Encourage students to contribute towards the college and wider community

Academic topper and sports students, nominated representatives from each class B.COM/ BMS/ BBI/ BAF/ B.Sc. IT come together and discuss academic and administrative issues periodically. Student’s council meetings are conducted frequently for organisation of various programmes and activities such as Sports, Academics, Cultural, N.S.S, WDC, Placement cell, etc. The members of the Student’s council conduct one on one discussion with Principal and schedule monthly meetings in 1st week of every month, this is to perform interactive sessions with students and finding solutions to their problems.

Provides overall student leadership and coordinates Council activities and initiatives.

Vice President
Assists the President and supports coordination among student representatives.

General Secretary
Coordinates communication, meetings, activities, and documentation of the Council.

Student Representatives
Represent the interests and perspectives of students and actively participate in various college initiatives.

The actual designation and number of office bearers may be updated according to the College’s approved Student Council structure.

Council members assist in planning, coordinating, and managing various college events and student-oriented programmes.

By encouraging students to take initiative, accept responsibility, work together, and contribute to the institution, the Council helps transform everyday student participation into meaningful leadership experiences.

Under cultural committee, we organize a lot of activities which help students to participate and show their hidden talents. Webinars, Workshops and Competitions like Women Rights, Emotional Intelligence, Composting and Gardening, Gandhi Jayanti, Blood Donation Camp, Aids Awareness programme, Singing Competition, Dancing Competition etc are organized. While organising annual function, Student’s Council actively participate to make it a successful event. Various academic bodies which has student’s representatives from Cultural, Academics, WDC, NSS committees actively involved for each and every
activity.
